Born from a Love of Wine, People, and Place
The Wine Shop was born from Tanja Robinson’s vision. A storyteller at heart and a traveller by nature, journeying through South Africa’s wine regions each month in search of new tales to pour and share. She imagined a space that invites curiosity, sparks connection, and celebrates the people and stories behind every bottle. More than a shop, it became a living expression of South African wine culture.
When Sarah Krone joined as business partner, she infused that vision with her boundless energy, warmth, and passion for people. Her joyful, authentic spirit creates an atmosphere of connection and welcome, where laughter flows as easily as the wine.
Together with Head Sommelier Stanley Zimbizi, whose extraordinary palate and intuition uncover hidden gems from every corner of the Cape, they’ve built a space that celebrates storytelling, travel, learning, and indulgence.The Wine Shop is a place of immersion and growth, where adventure meets authenticity, knowledge meets joy, and every sip tells a South African story worth remembering.
